“Forewarned” - The Swayback
A band out of Denver, the Swayback is mostly a local name so far, but have shared the stage with the likes of the Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Cage the Elephant, and Wolfmother. They take their name from the curve of a woman’s back. Their sound is at once ominous, vibratory, sexy like a femme fatale, and has what they have referred to in interviews as “the weirdness.”
If you’ve liked Joy Division or the Stooges, or just want a taste of punk, indie, and spook to tide you over through a bad itch, give this track a try.
